Immediately following the Pass-in-Review ceremony in St. Mary’s Pentagon, members of the Class of 1973 gathered at SUNY Maritime College’s sea wall overlooking the Long Island Sound. The Class dedicated a bronze plaque which was installed by the SUNY Maritime Foundation in recognition of their achievement in raising over $124,000 to establish the Class of 1973 Endowed Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will provide financial support each

year for one Deck and one Engine student to participate in Summer Sea Term. Additionally, the class took the opportunity to remember nineteen deceased members of their class. Rev. Tom Hauser ‘73 delivered remarks in memory of the deceased and read Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s poem, Crossing the Bar. After Rev. Hauser’s remarks, members of the class tossed flowers and a wreath over the sea wall.
