Homecoming 2023: A Time of Reunion and Remembrance On October 28, Fort Schuyler alumni returned to campus in force for Homecoming and to cheer on the Privateers during their 24-21 win over the U.S. Coast Guard Academy football team. As part of the two-day celebration, the Alumni Association’s Ancient Mariner Golf Classic took place on Friday along with the annual Marine Society of the City of New York President’s Cup Challenge Monomoy Race against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy plebes, in which the MUGs took the day with a handsome lead. Class of 1973, the honorary class celebrating their 50th reunion. MUGs took center stage at St. Mary’s Pentagon as performed the traditional Pass-in-Review. Three individuals were inducted into Heritage Hall that morning in recognition of their dedication and service to the College: John Valvo ’83, Professor John Mathieson ’59, and Professor Karen Markoe.
Hundreds of alumni enjoyed their first glimpse of the Empire State VII with cadet-led tours while the football tailgate brought old friends together to enjoy a warm afternoon. The Alumni Association held their Annual Meeting on campus in the Special Events Room (the old “Senior Mess”).
Early Saturday morning, RADM Alfultis greeted the reunion classes in the Library as alumni enjoyed breakfast, sharing stories and reminiscing. Among the many classes to join the festivities was the
