Homecoming 2023 MCAA

What was not to love on Homecoming Day, October 28, 2023? A new training ship at the pier, sunshine, warm breezes, and a hearty group of Domers from across decades descending on campus set the stage for a day of fellowship and celebration. Alumni gathered bright and early at the tailgaters’ lot, with 50 th , 55 th , 60 th , and 65 th Reunion celebrants meeting for breakfast at the Stephen P. Luce Library. The temperature and the energy rose through the morning after the annual Pass In Review Ceremony as alumni

showed their mettle in games of lacrosse, basketball, and baseball. There was time for business, too. At the MCAA’s Annual General Meeting, President Stephen Carbery ’80 reinforced the value of Sustaining Membership and presented updates on the Membership and Chapter structure for promoting camaraderie, networking, and outreach and on the Committees for carrying out our mission. Treasurer Sam Reilly ‘95 presented an informative and encouraging picture of

the Association’s financial affairs despite turbulent economic seas. Some tense third-quarter moments during the Privateers’ premier meet-up with the Coast Guard Academy Bears ultimately led to a 24-to-21 win for the home team on Reinhart Field, duly celebrated at Paddy’s on The Bay afterward. Campus-wide alumni meet-ups carried well into late afternoon, with folks undoubtedly planning their gatherings for next year with old and new-found friends.
