NEW ENDOWED FUNDS ESTABLISHED IN FY2022:

ALAN C. TRACHTMAN ’64 SCHOLARSHIP Trachtman Family and Friends

CLASS OF 1991 SCHOLARSHIP FUND Members of the Class of 1991 and Friends

A graduate of Maritime College (1964) and St. John’s Law School, Mr. Trachtman established this scholarship in 2021. The scholarship is awarded to a Cadet who identifies as Jewish, with a preference for those enrolled in Marine Transportation, International Transportation & Trade with a deck license, or Marine Operations. Mr. Trachtman passed away on August 8, 2022, and memorial gifts from family and friends have been added to the original $100,000 gift.

Established in 2021 to recognize members of the class, living and deceased, and to benefit a full-time student at Fort Schuyler. The Class has raised $35,000 in gifts and pledges toward a goal of $100,000.

CLASS OF 1992 ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND Members of the Class of 1992 and Friends

CAPTAIN MANG V. VO ’81 ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP Captain Mang V. Vo ’81

In anticipation of their 40th Reunion, the Class of 1992 established this Fund to provide a Summer Sea Term Scholarship to a full-time student pursuing a U.S. Coast Guard license. Fundraising is off to a strong start, with almost $25,000 raised in the first three months, toward a goal of $100,000. ROCCO A. CAMPANELLI ’73 ENDOWED SUMMER SEA TERM SCHOLARSHIP Rocco A. Campanelli ’73 Rocco Campanelli established this Fund to honor the memory James Rodnite, a Fort Schuyler classmate who died far too young. The scholarship is awarded to students in either the deck or engine license program, with a preference for first- and second-generation immigrant students.

Captain Vo served as an Officer in the South Vietnamese Navy and emigrated to the United States after the end of the Vietnam War. This scholarship benefits a full-time student who is a U.S. citizen or has Permanent Residence Status, with a preference for students with a family heritage from Southeast Asia. Captain Vo is funding the scholarship on a current basis, while building an endowment with annual gifts as well as a bequest intention.

CLASS OF 1970 ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP Members of the Class of 1970 and Friends

Established in 2021, as the Class was preparing to celebrate their pandemic-delayed Fiftieth Reunion, the scholarship benefits undergraduate cadets enrolled in a U.S.C.G. license program. The Class has already raised over $41,000 toward a goal of $100,000.

THE MATSON INC. LEADERSHIP DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP FUND The Matson Inc.

CLASS OF 1981 SESQUICENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND Members of the Class of 1981 and Friends

Matson, Inc. established this scholarship to benefit full-time students enrolled in International Transportation & Trade (undergraduate) or International Transportation Management (graduate) who have demonstrated leadership on campus. A preference is given to underrepresented students including, women, African Americans, and other persons of color.

Established just after their 40th Reunion, and in anticipation of the College’s 150th anniversary, the scholarship will benefit a full-time student. The Class has raised $36,500 toward a goal of $150,000.
