Esmeralda Hernandez, a first class cadet studying Marine Transportation, applied and was accepted as an EOP student prior to entering the College in her freshman year. “I was so privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of the program and I was motivated from that moment on,” said Cadet Hernandez. In addition to the coursework, the program

allowed her to learn and apply a variety of effective study practices, which was beneficial in adjusting to coursework, campus life and the regiment. During her second year, Cadet Hernandez served as an EOP study hall monitor, a squad leader for the incoming mariners under guidance, and played on the women’s lacrosse team.
