LONG ISLAND CHAPTER | June 4, 2020, Long Island, NY The Long Island Alumni Chapter held a virtual Zoom get together when NY State was still closed due to the pandemic. As a guest speaker, Dr. Joe Hoffman ’75 spoke to the group about his tenure as Maritime College’s

Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Hoffman related how happy he is that he will now resume his job as a professor at the College. After Dr. Hoffman gave a summary of his experiences, there was an opportunity to ask questions. The chapter members were able to spend time talking to one another and catching up. This was especially enjoyed back in June, when the quarantine lockdown had been in place since March and no one had seen each other. The Zoom format allowed members from Long Island to participate, as well as colleagues and classmates from around the country.
