(fourth-generation) and Senior Vice President Capt. AJ McAllister III ’80 (fifth generation) expressed their gratitude to have their company play its part on this historic day in New York harbor.

Capt. Timothy Ferrie ’78, fourth-generation Sandy Hook pilot, proudly greets the USNS Comfort at the sea buoy to welcome her and masterfully guide her into New York Harbor. Along with his customary coat and tie, he wore a respirator mask as he climbed the pilot ladder to the bridge. Capt. Ferrie’s experience was featured in an article in the New Yorker (April 13, 2020 issue) entitled Bringing In The Comfort, in which he expressed, “Piloting the Comfort, and being part of her work here, has been the proudest day of my life.”
