June 2020 was a month for Brian
Abbott ‘03 to celebrate. On June 5, Brian and his wife Jill welcomed their second daughter, Sadie Grace, 7 lbs. 13 oz. Three days later, Brian learned he was selected for promotion to Commander in the Navy Reserve and will be promoted in spring 2021.

Don Moore ’00, Commanding Officer, NR Military Sealift Command Expeditionary Port Unit 115, was promoted to
Capt., USN on August 1, at a small ceremony attended by his wife Helen, and children Tyler, Olivia and Dylan. His parents Joan and Don Moore ’75 were also in attendance.
The SLSDC was privileged to have Nate Jarvis ’00, its Marine Services Chief Engineer, receive the Department’s highest award, the Gold Medal. Nate received the prestigious award for his outstanding efforts to ensure the completion and delivery of the SLSDC’s new tug, the Seaway Guardian, in spite of the challenges posed by the ongoing public health emergency.
